Presentation to the City Commission and Follow-up

Friends, we presented to the City Commissioners this evening and they asked us to do a bit more research on two sites and come back in two weeks. They proposed alternate sites–one out by the airport and one by the athletic complex–and we need to look at them and decide what the feasibilty of those sites are. The other thing they asked is for us to commit to raising all of the money for the park ourselves and not asking for money from the city. We will keep you posted. Please note that we will NOT be on the City agenda on October 13. We are moving forward though.

Humane Society of the High Plains Support

Bunnie Bowen, Laurie Mortinger and I visited the Board Meeting of the humane Society of the High Plains this evening to talk to them about the dog park project. The Board voted unanimously to support the idea of a dog park in Hays. Thanks for your support HSHP!

Garage and Bake Sale a HUGE Success!!!

Friends, the Garage and Bake Sale was a HUGE success this past weekend. We raised $3,000!!!! We now have $6,700 to put toward our cause…..This is a great start, but we still need a lot more! Please encourage friends to make a tax deductable, refundable donation to the City.

Thanks to all of you who donated goods or worked hard to make the Sale a SUCCESS!

We need DONATIONS and BAKED GOODS for our Garage and Bake Sale this weekend. Please drop off goods at the Armory on Wednesday, August 10 from 6-9 PM and Thursday, August 11 from 1-8 PM.

Also, dont forget to tell your friends to come by and shop on Friday and Saturday!

Friends of the Hays Dog Park Garage and Bake Sale

Friday, August 12: 1:00 PM to dark

Saturday, August 13: 8-1 (Bag Sale ALL day, $5/bag)

National Guard Armory, Hays

Drop off donations accepted Wednesday, August 10, 6-9 PM and Thursday, August 11, 1-8 PM at the Armory. We will accept donations of nice household goods. Please NO clothes, shoes or computer monitors. If you need
a donation picked up from your residence, call Laurie Mortinger at 635-5616.

How can you help? Donate goods to sell. Bake some goodies to sell. Spread the word. Volunteer to work the sale (Call Laurie above—she is setting up the schedule).
